I've gotten the FZ1 early part of this year, and already it has become the de facto camera I bring about on speaking tours and travels. Reason? Simple. The camera is tiny, has a 12x optical zoom with f2.8 aperture throughout in a Leica label, optical image stabilization (OIS), and works with a 1GB SD card. I move very often on stage when speaking to corporate audiences, and this camera has been the ONLY camera able to track me on stage and take stable usable pictures for archival. At the same time, it can take video with audio in VGA/NTSC resolution, and the footage is usable for web presentations and archhival as well. Great little tool, and works flawlessly with my Mac OS X systems. The camera beats my supposedly "better" Fuji, Canon and Olympus gear, and most of all, it is even affordable. Its most recent bigger "cousin" is the FZ20, with the same great optics and OIS, and boosts the resolution up to 5 megapixels. Gotta save some money for that now. Highly recommended - the Panasonic Lumix FZ range (current FZ3 replaces the FZ1, and FZ20 replaces the previous FZ10).
